Brevard County Ceramic Coatings Installation from ASC

Ceramic coating is a clear liquid polymer that is carefully applied by hand to the vehicle’s exterior creating a barrier between your vehicle’s delicate paintwork and the elements and protecting it from UV rays, dirt, and other environmental contaminants. A ceramic coating can also make cleaning your car easier, as it helps to repel water and dirt making routine cleaning much easier.

Our Goal is Vehicle Perfection

Ceramic coating is a long-term investment that can provide superior protection for your vehicle's paint job. Unlike wax, which needs to be applied regularly, ceramic coating forms a much more durable barrier that can last for years if well cared for. Why is Paint Correction Recommended with Ceramic Coating?

Paint correction is the process of restoring your paint to its original condition. This can be done by removing swirls, scratches, and other imperfections. Paint correction is an important step prior to the process of ceramic coating.

Without paint correction, the ceramic coating will not have a smooth, even surface to bond to. This can cause the coating to not properly adhere to the paintwork. In addition, without paint correction, the ceramic coating will not be able to achieve its full potential in terms of durability and shine. Ceramic coatings are designed to protect your paint from UV rays, chemicals, and other hazards, but if the coating is not properly bonded to the paint, it will not be able to do its job properly. By correcting these imperfections first, you can ensure that your paint will look its best after the ceramic coating is applied and help to prolong the life of your coating by preventing premature aging and wear.

Benefits of Applying Ceramic Coating To Your Vehicle

If you’re like most people, you take great pride in your vehicle. You want to make sure that it looks good at all times. One way to achieve this is by ceramic coating your car. This process provides a number of outstanding benefits for you and your ride.

Protection

Ceramic coating protects your vehicle's paint job. It creates a barrier that helps to repel water, dirt, and other debris.

Shine

Ceramic coating also gives your car a brilliant shine. The ceramic particles fill in any microscopic pores in the paint, creating a smooth surface. This makes your car's color appear richer and brighter.

UV Protection

Ceramic coating provides UV protection. This is important because the sun can cause the paint on your car to fade over time. By protecting it from the sun's rays, you can keep your car looking newer for longer.

Easy Cleaning

Ceramic coating makes your car easier to clean. When dirt and debris come into contact with the coated surface, they will not stick as easily as they would to an uncoated surface. This means that you won't have to work as hard to keep your vehicle clean.

If you’re looking for a way to protect your car and keep it looking its best, ceramic coating is a great option. Talk to one of the professionals at Auto Surface Concepts about having a ceramic coating applied to your vehicle.

Why Are Ceramic Coations All The Rage?

If you don’t follow the Professional Detailing Industry you may not have heard about Ceramic Coatings. If you are an enthusiasts or DIY detailer there is a good chance you have. Ceramic Coatings are the latest trend in Automotive Paint Protection. While car waxes and sealants have been around for a very long time, Ceramic Coatings are a more recent invention. In the last 10 years or so, Ceramic Coatings have been steadily gaining in popularity and public awareness. But what are they?
Also called Nano-Coatings and Glass Coatings, a Ceramic Coating is a long-term paint protection technology based on Silica. Basically, it is comprised of Nano-Ceramic particles suspended in a cocktail of solvents and resins. Once applied to the surface of your automobile the solvents begin to evaporate, while the resins bond the Silica (Si02) particles to vehicle’s paint. Sometimes they are SiC based, instead of Si02.

Wax is the go to product for most consumers when they want to protect their car’s paint. It has been a trusted technology for over a hundred years. While it has its place, there are certain drawbacks to Wax.

For starters, Wax isn’t very chemical resistant and can be easily removed with most detergents or all purpose cleaners. People spend money having their car waxed only to remove or breakdown the wax the very next time they drive their car through the car wash.

Waxes are soft by nature, and therefore do not offer much resistance against scratches or scuffs. They also have a low heat tolerance and begin to breakdown around 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Because of its lower tolerance to heat and chemicals, Wax only lasts a few months, at best.

Ceramic Coatings, on the other hand provide considerably more durable paint protection. Based on Si02 (Silicon Dioxide) or SiC (Silicon Carbide) technology, Ceramic Coatings are highly chemical resistant. Detergents and other harsh chemicals will not remove the Coating.

Ceramic Coatings are typically several times harder than your vehicle's factory paint or clear coat. This means greater protection against light scratches and wash marks (swirls). Below is a list of advantages provided by Ceramic Coatings.

Benefits of Ceramic Coatings

  • Harder than factory paint and clear coat
  • Increased chemical resistance
  • Greater tolerance to heat
  • Years of protection
  • Super Hydrophobic (repels water)
  • Stays clean longer and easier to clean
  • No need to wax

As you can see, there are many advantages to Ceramic Coatings. They are truly the best option for paint protection on the market today.

With all of these "pros" someone will naturally ask, "what are the cons?" There are a couple.

Price

Ceramic Coatings require a higher up front investment. It is important to remember that most of the cost is is at the time of installation, whereas you pay for waxing every 3+ months. Over the course of several years the cost of a Ceramic Coating may be less than traditional waxing.

For example, paying a Professional Detailer $150 every 3 months to Wash and Wax your car adds up to $600 per year. Over 3 years you would spend $1800. You can get a Ceramic Coating on an average size car for less than that, and it will last for 2 - 3 years or more .

Difficult to Install

Ceramic Coatings are more difficult to install than traditional paint protection, like waxes or polymer sealants. The margin for error is much higher, since failure to remove all of the excess product will result in “High Spots” in the finish.

What is a High Spot? It is an area where the excess product was not fully removed, resulting in patchy areas, blotches, streaks or smears in the Coating finish. Once cured, High Spots can be difficult to remove and can require polishing or even more aggressive methods to remove.
